James Jarvis - Fishing

Every now and then, when I'm out with friends and we are all constantly checking/fiddling with our phones/ipads/computers/cameras/etc, I think of this James Jarvis piece, titled "Fishing". It was part of a commissioned collection that James did for Sony back in early 2000 (see the whole collection here), so I don't think it was meant as a critique of how technology has inundated our lives, but hey, art is subject to different interpretations, and that's mine.

Speaking of Art - finally got a chance to stop by Angel City Brewing Company at Downtown LA with some of the OSTT crew. Good Beer, and through July 10th, you can enjoy their exhibit titled "Street Brewed" - a collection of over 25 world renowned street artists (Phil Lumbang, Shepard Fairey, Ron English, etc) using a 10 x 12 wood panel (supported by kegs) as their canvas while they do what they do best. I hate it when websites / blogs ruin art galleries by posting every single piece at a show, but if you want a small preview (1 blurry cell phone pic, ha) - check after the jump.
