We Are One

Not many words that need to be said on the disgusting nature of the Sterling scandal front, pretty much every media venue has it covered. I do like the message of #WeAreOne; and the way it spread online.

I also love the time-honored tradition of bootleg shirts, and how negativity can often spark entrepreneurship. One of my favorite Clippers shirts was purchased outside of the Staples Center during the 05-06 campaign, and featured the phrases "Clippers Ain't No Joke" and "LA up for grabs!" on the front, and this one pictured after the jump gives it a run for its money.

Saturday's Surf NYC

Naming a company is tough. Saturday's? Ok, but not sure what the company would be about. Saturday's Surf? Ok - there are a lot of weekend warriors out there, makes sense. Saturday's Surf NYC? I can't front, I have a hard time associating Surfwear (well, surfing in general) with NYC - but the brand itself has managed to capture an excellent mix of California cool and upscale looks. Nike Instinct - 9" Running Shorts

I was checking out the Nike Running store down at Fashion Valley mall in San Diego today (yes - they have a Nike flagship strictly for Nike running products), and stumbled on these new Nike Instinct running shorts. The picture doesn't do them justice - but they are actually pretty sweet. Inspired by the fit and cut of boardshorts - these are some of the softest/stretchiest running shorts I've seen. I prefer a shorter inseam, but these were so comfortable I thought about pulling the trigger on the $100 shorts anyway. For my buddies that actually do run/workout in boardshorts (#CaliforniaLove) - these are a must cop. Barcelona x Replay Denim

You have to love futbol. With the kind of wages these guys are paying, they don't play around when it comes to sponsorships. Kits featuring prominent space of the sponsors? Of course. How about using different sponsors just for the practice kits? Done. Airlines? Betting agency's? You name it. I mean, Manchester United has 36 official sponsors! Kudo's to Barcelona for having an official denim sponsor in Replay denim. Now, naturally, some of the looks are kind of 'Euro' (check after the jump, or  here for even more.), but what can you expect?

I think we can all agree that a PSG x APC collab would be more fashionable, but this will do in the mean time.

BrandBlack - The Falcon Runner

Look - I love Jamal Crawford's game. Hands down, favorite player on my favorite team - and being that my favorite team is the Clippers, that says a lot. That being said, I can't completely co-sign his first round of Kicks from the new performance/lifestyle company, BrandBlack. Even before wearing low-tops was the cool thing to do on the court, I could never get in to high tops (yes - that mean I didn't have the Jordan fetish growing up all the kids my age did). Now - these runners from BrandBlack, aptly titled "The Falcons", I can dig. Purchase here.

I like what the people over at LifeStraw are doing. For every bottle sold, they provide a years worth of (clean) water to an school child in Africa. Each bottle (which you can purchase here) will filter 1,000 liters, and removes 99.9999% of water born bacteria. This is great for backpacking - no need to stop and 'pump' when you cross rivers, just fill and sip!

Aint Shit Funny

I was never much of a baseball fan. I'll never forget watching the '88 World Series with my Grandpa as a young'n, and I hit up the Chavez Ravine for a game about once a year, so I guess that makes me a Dodger fan by default. That being said, as a kid, always was drawn to the Orioles and Indians logos - so dope. Aint Shit Funny has a nice little flip of the Orioles logo that is worth a look. Peep here.

Nike - Team USA 2014 National Team Away Kit

USA! USA! Nike unleashes a green (as in environmentally friendly, not color way) kit for this years upcoming World Cup in Brazil. Check out the complete Nike press release here. 

In line with Nike’s commitment to superior performance with lower environmental impact, the shirt, shorts—and for the first time in a national team kit, the socks—all feature fabric made from recycled plastic bottles (100 percent recycled polyester in the shorts, 96 percent recycled polyester in the shirt and 78 percent in the socks). Each kit is made using an average of 18 recycled plastic bottles. Since 2010, Nike has diverted almost two billion bottles from landfills, enough to cover over 2,800 full-sized soccer pitches.
