Vans Era - Hyacinth/Riviera

With tomorrow being April 1st - it's officially too late to still be talking about the "new year". We are literally 2 months away from being half way to 2013? Crazy. Anyway, saw these over at Nice Kicks and thought they were the perfect "Easter Sunday" kicks for your champagne brunch. Cheers.

James Jarvis - No More

I love the work of James Jarvis - definitely one of my favorite artists the last couple of years. You can follow his blog here - and don't forget to support AMOS - the company he founded in 2003, while you're at it.

Quality Mending Co - The Highrider (Denim)

There are certain stores/brands that name themselves appropriately - Fresh&Easy and Food4Less are two prime example of this. The fashion industry isn't always as thought forward when it comes to names - typically defaulting to the founder/designer's name or some esoteric word (ok - Nike did a pretty good job in the name department). Anyway, I got a bit off track here. Quality Mending Company is some ridiculously high quality denim that is made right here in the good ol' USA. Specs of the denim below:

- Shape is modeled after a pair of 1960s Levi's 505s
- No external branding
- 14oz sanforized selvedge denim from Cone Mills
- Fabric and thread made in North Carolina
- Reproduction brass TALON "bell" zipper
- Solid copper rivets, made in Kentucky
- Inside waistband is 10oz cotton twill
- Pockets made from deadstock, WWII Swiss army bed linens
- Assembled on Union Special and Singer industrial machines
- Made in the USA (New Jersey)

Sounds good, right? Check after the jump for additional details on the brand itself - and if interested, purchase here.

Nike Black Beast Air Max 1

Fire! I love the subtle use of the leopard print offset against the basic black base and infrared inner. Overall, these come out much cleaner than the last time we saw Nike make use of the Leopard print on a AM 1 (picture after the jump). Now for the bad news - this shoe is a woman's release. Scheduled for a release in October per Info via Sneaker News.

OSTT Music | Weekly Roundup (Mixtapes)

Me and the president or should I say the prince figured we should do it a little different and instead of hitting you with random music post we thought we devote a day to giving you a weekly roundup of what's tight. So I picked Tuesday which makes sense seeing that's when music legally drops to purchase. I'll have two separate post one for mixtapes and one for singles. You may not agree with the tapes I like and think you should check out so if you have better ones you think I missed drop me a line @HOP_COOL. I'd be more than happy to check it out and listen. I also know some weeks the mixtape grind may be slow and you may only get 1, so if I'm missing out on good music let me know. This week I have two that you may have heard hit the jump below to preview them.

Mac Miller - Macadelic
Mick Boogie Presents Slum Village - The Dirty Slums

Ray-Bans - Spring 2012

While I've never been accused of shying away from color - I feel like certain 'classics' don't need to be messed with, and Ray-Bans are one of them. I'd say leave the colors for Oakley Frogskins, and when it comes to Ray-Bans, stick to black or tortoise print. That being said - these bad boys are available now!

GQ x Glenn O'Brien x Tyler,The Creator

GQ has a nice interview with their "Style Guy" Glenn O'Brien and Tyler, The Creator where both individuals discuss their interest in Supreme. Pretty good interview overall (Tyler discusses what it's like to see little mini-me's at his shows, Glenn talks about his introduction to the brand and eventual friendship with founder James Jebbia), but my favorite part of the interview was the discussion surrounding how a gentlemen in his elder year incorporates a street wear label in to his wardrobe (copied below):

GQ: Glenn, how do you wear Supreme as an adult male, versus how Tyler and his friends might wear it?
Glenn: Well, I tuck my shirt in.
GQ: How can dudes incorporate Supreme stuff into a look that's more polished?
Glenn: You just wear the right size. I've been buying their chinos for years, I think they're just the best; they also have very nice jeans. And I think those things mix perfectly—you could wear them with a tweed sportcoat or a blazer. I don't like to dress head-to-toe in any designer or brand, but a lot of this stuff integrates really well into a wardrobe. The T-shirts are really well made, and they have a stretchy panel down the side so that they actually fit right. A lot of thought goes into these clothes.

Schier Shoes

My boy put me on these shoes - and the story is actually pretty fascinating. The shoes are made "in the coastal town of Swakopmund, Namibia, at the Herbert Schier workshop. There, a small group of eight Damara gentlemen assemble every shoe by hand, turning out just 20 pairs an afternoon. Herbert Schier vellies are made of vegetable-dyed Kudu leather. The Namibian government mandates the culling of these large native antelope to control their population. Kudu skin yields amazingly durable leather and suede that ages exceptionally well. Because these hides are taken from wild animals they often show scars or other "imperfections" that domesticated hides do not." Pretty dope right? Check out their website, and if interested - purchase here!

Check after the jump for some history on the particular style of shoe pictured above.

ONLY NY S/S 2012

Outside of Supreme - it is my opinion that ONLY NY has the best accessories (well - hats and beanies at least) in the game. This season in particular - there is a corduroy hat this season that is a personal favorite of mine - but who can forget the denim/suede combo from last year, or even their wool 5-panel blanks (made in the USA)? Check out the goods currently available online or at a stocklist near you now!

Mark McNairy x Billionaire Boys Club

TIMEOUT on the court! Fashion genius Mark McNairy and overall purveyor of coolness Pharrell Williams collaborated on a capsule project for Fall 2012 - entirely composed of products made in the US? This is something to check for! Complex has a preview of the whole collection in their Style section now - give it a look!

Air Jordan Retro 11 - Low

Looks like this Spring we are going to get another colorway of 11's - but this time around, for the first time in nearly 10 years (unless you count the CMFT 11 Viz Air's - which nobody does), the AJ XXI's are dropping in low-tops. These may not gather the same hype as the Concords - but they are definitely worth a look. More pics here, via Sole Collector.

APC - Spring/Summer 2012

APC's Spring/Summer 2012 line is out in stores - and for the first time here in the United States - available for sale on their website as well. Check out the online store for Spring/Summer for Men here and Women here.

Odd Future | Oldie (Video)

This is one of my favorite songs on the new album The OF Tape, Vol. 2, which released today! Head over to iTunes to check it out. I'm going to keep it real overall this album is cool. I like how diverse they are there are a couple songs I could do without but a solid showing. Earl is so weird to me but his verse is dope on this bad boy. Notice how reserved Frank is? Interesting looking forward to listening to this a bit more. Enjoy!

PS: Did anyone else know Frank rapped? Man I love this beat.

Dain Fagerholm

Dain Fagerholm is an artist whose work I recently stumbled on over at Tumblr. I realize this may not be the best post for your head after St. Patrick's day weekend - but I was pretty drawn to his stereographic drawings. Pictured above is "Blue Girl" -and you can Check out more from Dain Fagerholm over at his blog.

Anonymous - Ism Socks

I can't even lie - Wifey put her foot down and said 'no more socks' for me. Evidently my collection has a grown too large over the last 6 years. I look at like this - I replaced a shoe obsession with a sock obsession, but that's neither here nor there. Fear not OSTT faithful - I will continue to be on the look for quality great finds like these! Purchase now over at Need Supply.

Freshjive - Miami Crime

Just the other day we did a post on Freshjive's new sub line, Basics - and now we're back with some imagery from the flagship's label Spring line. Nothing overly clever or stylish about this shirt - but I'll tell you what drew me in - the story. Freshjive is one of the best brands out there when it comes to telling the stories behind their designs - and the Miami Crime wave article is no different. Peep it here.

Puma - "Year of the Dragon"

If you drop 99 cents and sub out those fat laces - these red on red Puma's (made to pay homage to the Chinese Year of the Dragon) are the business. More pics over at Nice Kicks.

Terry Urban: LDR + Notorious B.I.G. | Born Ready to Die (Mashup)

I'll let the music do the talking.

DL: Born Ready to Die

Freshjive - Basic Line

In addition to their standard line featuring a wide variety of graphic t's, button-ups, pants, and accessories - LA based streetwear originator did something new this season by introducing a sub-line, aptly titled "Basics". You can check out the lookbook here, as Freshjive reminds us what Muppets creator Jim Henson once famously said: "Simple is good".

Tinker Hatfield x Jordan 2012

A couple weeks back while traveling for work - I went for an early morning run with our Chief Administrative Officer. During the course of our jog through Texas, we discussed many topics, one of which was prior employment, during which it came out one of his previous endeavors was serving as CAO for Nike at their corporate headquarters up in Portland, Oregon. Me being me, that led to rapid fire questions - the first of which was - "Did you ever meet/run in to Tinker Hatfield"? I couldn't help myself - after designing my favorite Nike models (Air Max 1, Air Presto) and everyone's favorite Jordan's, how is he not engrained in your head? I threw myself out there as a bit of a sneakerhead with that one, and he was quite shocked with the question ("I've been asked about a lot of individuals - Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, even Bo Jackson - but never Tinker"), but long story story short, yes he did know him, and shared some stories that aren't built for here.

Anyway - that was a long intro to basically say - "The Tinker Hatfield x Jordan 2012 Deluxe model is releasing today - March 14th. Check out the picture after the jump, and if interested, head to select Nike stores to purchase now!"

Converse x Stussy - Spring/Summer Sea Star

*Common Voice* - Love Love Love these! Converse and Stussy collaborate on a model rarely used - the Spring/Summer Sea Star. Check out more pictures at Hypebeast. These drop on March 16th, so be ready! Is it just me, or have there been a lot of HOT shoes dropping lately?

Wiz Khalifa | Taylor Allderdice (Mixtape)

I have high expectations for this (no-pun). If you have been slacking on your TGOD music go here for a quick update. I have a feeling this tape will be in the zone of Kush & OJ which to me was one of the best Wiz mixtapes to date. Be on the lookout around 5.

Cole Haan x Nike

Yes - you read that correctly. Cole Haan and Nike came together on a pair of wingtops featuring Nike's Lunar technology on the sole. This is one of the most exciting things I've seen when it comes to a pair of dress shoes really upping the antie by embracing technology. Up until now, these shoes have only been available at the SoHo Cole Haan flagship store - but as of Saturday, March 17th, three colorways are going to be released at the UNFTD flagship store off of La Brea in Los Angeles. Check out more on this collaboration here - via Nike Inc.

Comme des Garcens x Supreme x Vans

After some careful thought and consideration - decided these CDG x Supreme x Vans needed their own post. More info on the capsule collection via Supreme and the OSTT archives.

Action Bronson | Blue Chips (Mixtape)

This is what I'm talking about! About time. I've been secretly following Action waiting to hear what he would do next he has been dropping some super fresh singles and with this mixtape titled after one of my favorite bball movies "Blue Chips" I was all sorts of hyped. He has that raw east coast Ghostface sound, I really dig this dude and will most definitely need to check him out in concert. RESPECT!

Supreme x COMME des GARCONS Capsule collection

At this point - I'm not even sure why I'm posting this. In all honesty - its going to be absurdly expensive and limited, and the camp out has likely already started for what will likely be one of the most hyped collaborations of the year. The capsule collection includes a t shirt (pictured above), hoodie, dress-shirt, camp hat, and a pair of Vans Authentics. Check out more pics from the highly sought after connection over at Hypebeast.

Top Designs - Daypack

When it comes to backpacks and other accessories, I've been all about Hershel Supply Co the last couple of years. That being said, it's time to let another brand get some shine. TOPO Designs is headquartered in Colorado - the same state in which they make all of their products (in a LEED certified warehouse, if you are in to that sort of thing). If you've been a follower of the site for some time - you know that I'm a fan of products made in the US, and guess what - Topo is conscious of what that entails:

At Topo Designs we talk a lot about how things are made and why, about the value of creating versus consuming, and how to work with that tension. When making the decision of where to produce our designs, we talked about importing and making locally. While drawn to the ideas of making things in the US we also understand the importance of making things work. After research we were pleased to find that we could make things locally and even more, we could control quality at a closer level, we could drastically reduce minimums which gave us more flexibility and, if we were careful, we could bring things in at a price that didn’t reduce it to a luxury item. We’re global citizens and enjoy things made all around the world, but we’re very proud to be making and producing things in the country we call home.

Check out Topo Designs products here, and read up on the Company here

SLVDR - Nathan Shorts

I'll be honest - I've never heard of SLVDR before. Never seen them mentioned on any of the websites [or brick & mortar stores] that I typically frequent. I actually stumbled on them at a small boutique shop here in Manhattan Beach called BLVD (more on them later). I was initially drawn to the shorts by the color - and was further intrigued by their silhouette, fabric, and overall design (interior print, pocket placement/shape, etc). Long story short - I tried them, loved them, bought them, and now want to share them. Read up on the company here, their current range of products here, and a brief summary below. Look out for more posts on SLVDR from OSTT in the future!

The SLVDR aesthetic is deeply rooted in timeless design and attention to detail. The casual Southern California lifestyle of growing up at the beach, mountains, and empty backyard pools combined with inspiration from travels around the world mix together to form the inspiration for design. Attainable luxury summarizes the brand direction in that SLVDR provides premium materials and finishes in an obtainable product.

Happy BDay Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher Wallace)

Arguably 1 of the greatest MC's of all time, you can argue either #1 or #2 behind or in front of Tupac. The reason we will never know is because neither artists lived long enough to actually show their full potential. I can go on for days but check a couple videos that still give me chills below. The 2PAC & Biggie freestyle can't be embedded so head here to see the greatest freestyle on YouTube ever for many reasons...

Award Tour - World Champion Powder Clan

What are you doing this upcoming Friday at 9pm PST, 12am EST? If the answer isn't logging on to The Corner Store over at The Award Tour, you can pretty much kiss the thought of obtaining any of their newest collection goodbye. Check out the small capsule collection here - and read Phil's thoughts on the collection (and its release delay) below:

So yeah, I was talking about Christmas a few months ago. Then I was shooting for January, then February…next thing I know I turned around and it was March. Always funny how that works out. There’s been a whole bunch of living taking place recently, and it’s unfortunately pretty hard to ship t-shirts when you’re living out of a backpack, in a tent, or out of hotel rooms for three and a half weeks out of any given month. But never mind all of that. We’ve got ourselves some shirts. A small little capsule collection. A cotton based EP if you will. More importantly there is some Award Tour back in the universe. Thanks for waiting.

Also - don't forget to check out The Madbury Club for a great online experience.

Sock Lady Socks

Just yesterday  I was talking about ways to spice up your outfit - whether at work or hanging on the low. As I mentioned, one of my favorite ways to swag up a low key outfit is through the use of accessories, one of which of my favorite is socks. Sock Lady is a brand (also hand made in the USA - Vermont to be exact)  created by Marianne Wakerlin - a woman who went from making socks as gifts for friends/families - to an American business owner who is focused on producing socks that are "mismatched with care". Purchase here.

The Hill-Side

In the business world - there are certain ways to distinguish yourself from a style perspective. The first and most obvious way is to have is to have a mean suit game - but those tailor bills and custom suits add up quick.  Personally, I've always gone the "accessory" route - ie having a dope pair of socks, watch, tie, or even pen, to compliment my outfit. The best part about stepping up your accessories is that they can dress up (work) or down (casual). Today's post features The Hill-Side, a domestic brand (made in the USA!) that focuses on quality hand-made ties. Support and purchase here!

Comme Des Garcons - Camo Cardigan

The camouflage print is all the rage this season - and while I'd still prefer to go with some government issued authentic - this 100% Italian Merino Wool Cardigan from Comme Des Garcons is the business! Available for purchase at Oki-Ni now.

Adele + Daft Punk | Something About The Fire (Carlos Serrano Remix)

Carlos Serrano keeps the ball rolling with a new mashup remix between Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain” and Daft Punk’s “Something About Us.” Equal chops of elements from both entities have been served delectably as Adele’s outstanding vocal prowess blends well with the mellow electronic tune of Daft Punk. After having remixed two tracks from Yeezy last year, this new offering nonetheless is a good followup to his preceding standout works. via Hypebeast

Chase-N-Ca$he (Surf Club) | This & That

This beat is dope. Respect him for his production. My theory is if you keep rapping long enough and surround yourself with other great artist eventually your sound will develop. We'll continue to follow C-N-C.

Big K.R.I.T. | 4eva N A Day (Mixtape)

There was no better way to come back then to come back and give you this. I know I'm behind and you may have went elsewhere to find your music fix. I've been busy grinding and have some great content to share with you from my trip to Orlando for All Star Weekend. As soon as I get it organized and get approval I'll share it with you, plus you didn't miss much in the last couple weeks to me this has been the first music related piece that is really worth downloading. I'll put together an OSTT mixtape with everything you might have missed soon. Enjoy this quality tape for now.

Supreme - Denim Western Shirt

To the 99.9% of you that were a part of the online sales drop for Supreme today - you likely missed out on the most hyped shirt of 2012 (pictured above). Kate Moss + Supreme Box Logo tee? Game Over. Anyway, there are a lot of really great pieces in this collection - so hopefully you weren't so consumed with hype on the Moss tee that you slept on some of the more refined pieces. My personal favorite from Supreme's Spring line is their Denim shirt - pictured after the jump. Cop here.

Vans - Brushed Twill Spring 2012

On my lunch break at work today - I walked over to the nearby mall with the intent of buying a pair of pale-yellow Vans. Unfortunately, all they had in stock was a pair that was literally brighter than the sun itself - and after inquiring with the salesperson only to be told no such pair exists -  I walked back to work somewhat disappointed. Imagine my surprise when I logged on to HighSnobiety tonight - only to find these bad boys pictured above! I'm not even mad they didn't have what I wanted in stock - I'm just looking forward to these droppin!
