Warriors of Radness - Fall part II

I gave a short preview of the Fall collection previously for Warriors of Radness - but after looking at the detailed pics of the entire Fall set - I think this is my favorite WOR season to date. The Award Tour - Summer Gradient T

Phil over at The Award Tour (or Lochness, as I remember him from the Hypebeast forum days) is releasing some Gradient Logo T's tomorrow at 3pm. I said it on twitter earlier today, and I wasn't joking - I put this drop in my calendar so I don't miss out (and everyone at work can see that my calendar is booked during this time frame, ha).

 To keep it 100 (sorry, I met G. Malone today - and that phrase is heavy in his vocabulary), I've been toning down the shirt collection of late by wearing more quality plain shirts and less shirts heavy on logos/graphics. That being said - you know when it comes to The Award Tour, I've been down for years - and always need to show love. Purchase shirts at The Corner Store on 8.31.11 at 3pm Easter/12pm Pacific.

Billionaire Boys Club - Fall 2011

It's no secret - I think that Pharrel is a genius. I will say that the Ice Cream and BBC lines focused too much on their relationship with NIGO/Bape and hype in their early years - so it is nice to see them come in to their own now as stand alone brands. The look above is very Ralph Lauren-esque, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Check out more from the Fall collection of BBC here, and remember - "Wealth is of the heart and mind. Freshjive - Fall 2011

I'm a fan, but uh, I'm not the only one that sees that slowly but surely, Freshjive has been 'borrowing' the swag of their sister company - Warriors of Radness, right? No qualms here- obviously I've been a huge supporter of WOR the last few years (link from 2008 - wow?). At the end of the day, I can't hate on Freshjive - they have done wonders for the industry the last 2 decades - and have under gone drastic changes more than a few times in their illustrious history - and that's why they are still around. They are just as relevant in 2011, as they were in 1989 - and that kind of staying power says enough.

*Note - the image above isn't reflective of the entire fall collection, just making my point. Check out WRG for the darker clothes you would expect from Freshjive, especially during Fall.

Us Versus Them - Fall 2011

As a self-proclaimed aficionado of hand-drawn logos and graphics, it's no wonder I've been a huge supporter of Us Versus Them from the get-go. They are back this season with more of what you've come to expect from the Temecula crew (except for your girlfriend, who still thinks all Temucula is good for is wine-tasting).

The Hundreds by Zach Cordner

The Hundreds put together a show for celebrity photographer, Zach Cordner - running from Aug 27th through Sept 5th (details of the show here). In association with the show, they are releasing a SUPER limited amount of t-shirts featuring the shots of Zach Cordner, available starting tomorrow. These are going to go quick - so if interested (I'm talking to you, J-hop), you need to fight the crowds at the show on day 1.

Supreme - Fall 2011 Backpacks

Yes - I am fully aware that my last two posts were on Supreme (Fall collection) and another brand of bags (Utile) - but when it comes to Supreme's accessories - I'm a sucker. I'm not sure how they manage to top themselves season after season when it comes to their bags (Backpack, Duffle Bag [boy], Small multipurpose bag, and a Camera/phone Case) - but they do. This season's collection of items is also available in Navy and Black.

Utile Canvas Bags

London label Utile collaborated with Shakelton Bags on a collection of Canvas bags. Love the simplicity here. Also "available" in Red/Navy, and a Mint/Navy colorway. Note the quotes around available - these things are selling out everywhere with the quickness.

Supreme - Fall 2011

Supreme's Fall Collection Lookbook is available now over at Supreme's website. Expect what you've grown to love from Supreme - equal parts skate, street, fashion, and attention to details, mix, rinse, repeat. I'm liking the hooded cardigan shown above. The entire collection should be available soon online and in stores.

Warriors of Radness - Fall

WOR is anything but convential - so leave it up to them to leave the tonal colors out of their fall collection. Look for the Warriors of Radness goods to drop online shortly, but in the mean time, make sure and stop by your favorite account and support the brick and mortar shops that already have their supply in. 

Stussy - Fall 2012

THANK YOU. The first two words that came to mind after seeing Stussy's fall gear were simple. Thank You. Stussy's fall collection is made up of a nice collection of shirts/sweatshirts/hats - but for the first time in awhile now - toned it down by producing quality pics without overerly relying on heavy graphic imagery or logo's. The shirt above is one of my favorites - quick and to the point message in their classic iconic font - done. Striver's Row - Fall 2011

As much as I still hate to admit it - the end of Summer is near - and the fall previews are dropping left and right - so expect some town-downed colors and gear for the cooler months. Today's post features noneotherthan Striver's Row, a company I first stumbled on via Marcus Troy's website late last year, and instantly fell in love with. With a motto of "Life is in the details - style accordingly" - how could you not? Expect more of the same this year - classic americana, vintage, throwback feel, with a focus on quality. And if you are even somewhat interested in the brand/their collection - please check out the video after the jump - you won't be disappointed.

CLOT x Converse Chuck Taylors

Speaking of versatile kicks, I'm not sure if any shoe is ever getting close the classic Converse Chuck Taylor. Dress 'em up, dress 'em down - just don't leave them out of the wardrobe. CLOT just collaborated with Converse on a pair of all-star low's (also available in black and navy) - and they are looking pretty clean. If it were up to me, I'd leave out the gum rubberized piping on the front - but hey, these can still find themselves in the rotation. More pics over at Hypebeast. 

Hex - Code Wallet for iPhone 4

These new wallets/iPhone cases are the epitome of clean. Stylish and practical, high quality leather, can't go wrong! I remember Hex from last year with the iPod Nano watch - but these are much more up my alley. Thanks to Bobby for the heads up on these, and if interested, you can purchase your own online here. Wale | Eleven One Eleven Theroy (Mixtape)

Wale drops his new mixtape on Life+Times part of his Ambition movement. This guy has been going hard in the studio. Not going to lie I wasn't a fan for a few reasons but when it comes down to it he says some pretty real stuff you have to listen close.

Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski “Brickhouse”

I've said it at least 10 times now - the Stefan Janoski  "Nike SB Zoom" has been an instant classic - super adaptable, stylish, and simple, coming in a full array of colorways. The Brickhouse, pictured above, is Nike's latest effort. Catch these at a your local store with a Nike account soon.

Form meets function! I can't front - there aren't a lot of new sunglasses designs or templates that really catch my eyes - for the most part - I'm all about the Oakley's (Frogskins), or some classic Ray-ban Wayfarer's. These Sunpocket glasses definitely got my attention though. Check the specs:

So for anyone that knows me knows that I love BTS content and documentaries. This series has been nothing short of amazing. The music has been great and the content has been great. Cruz did a terrific job capturing not only the music side of PACDIV but the lifestyle side of the boys. Definitely better than most short series now a days. Look forward to episode 3 and if possible seeing this all the way through as 1 short film. Enjoy!

Banksy - The Antics Roadshow

Banksy is back at it with a documentary titled "The Antics Roadshow". HB summed it up pretty well:


"a slightly satirical yet seriously entertaining documentary regarding anarchists, pranksters and dilettantes the world over. From a man who acts out video games in real life (imagine Super Mario buzzing by you in his kart while hurling a banana into moving traffic) to the guy who essentially invented throwing pies at celebrities and even an interview with a person who broke into the Queen’s bathroom, the content on The Antics Roadshow is not only cleverly named but also quite well conceived. "

Adidas Gazelle

I didn't realize that these aren't the original Adidas Gazelle, but are actually an updated version of the 1968 classic Adidas classic. In my humble opinion, I think these would look better with some white 'round' laces - but that's me. More pics over at NK.

Air Jordan 5 - Retro Black/Metallic

Pretty Fresh. These bad boys are dropping in stores/online on August 20th - which is right around the corner. I normally don't like the 'new' colorways and would prefer to stick with the OG's, but the Silver/Metallic pops in just the right way. You know these will sell out fast - so be quick on your toes (and with your mouse).

Polo Ralph Lauren

So, Polo Ralph Lauren dropped the Polo from the name? I co-sign that 100%, if "Polo" is what made them decide to produce shirts with logo's 500% the size of the OG Polo tops. Yeah, I said that. The XL Polo logo is ridiculous, sorry Vado. More info here.

Kid Cudi | No One Believes Me (Video)

This new clip will be featured in the upcoming remake of the movie Fright Night. The concept of this is pretty deep and dark I love it. I love this sound from Cudi starts to make me think is this what he means by rock? It has that rock beat but he sings like old Cudi. If he does that I can deal. Can't wait for the mp3 version of this. I'm sure the power of the internet will find a way to rip this into a mp3. Enjoy!

I said it in my interview with LaLaWag back in Spring, and it holds true - Curtains is a bonafide taste-maker when it comes to fashion, music, and culture in general. Real recognize real, and Complex magazine reached out and invited him to list out his Top 10 Shoes of all-time. Check it out here.

Skateboarder Mike Gonzalez, best known to the world as Gonz, collaborated with Streetwear legend X-Large on this shirt above. I'm a fan of the presentation here - folding 10 different shirts at different angles is a dope way to show the entire image that is presented on the shirt. Available in X-Large stores soon.

Native Shoes - 2012 Preview

I remember when I first saw Native shoes, I thought they were nothing more than glorified Crocs (and who wants to be associated with those?!)  I ended up purchasing a pair - if nothing else, I was intrigued. After wearing them for a year, I have to admit, they are one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes that I have ever worn. In fall - the brand has continued to grow - and offers new models in bolder/brighter colors than ever before. Trust me - these aren't your grandma's crocs.

Herschel Fall 2012 Preview

Hershel is a brand that seemingly came from nowhere (1 year ago today - had you heard of them?) to climb the ranks and are now essentially what Tanner Goods is to Leather products, but for backpacks and duffles. This upcoming season, they are expanding their collection to include Laptop covers, Messenger bags, Wallets, and many more goodies! Check here for more pictures from their upcoming collection.

The Hundreds - Fall 2011 Hats

2. It is part of The Hundreds Fall Collection.

3. The other hats included in the Fall line-up are featured in a blog called We Brought Snapbacks Back. A lot of people/websites/companies have been taking "credit" for doing the same lately, and I kind of take issues with it. In my opinion, Snapbacks never left. I still rock my Duke snapback that I got in 1991 (Present in 4th grade for getting straight A's - swag!), and have done so consistently since then. I guess you can say that snapbacks are definitely back in the mainstream - similar to the flannel neon resurgence in the mid 2000's, the flannel's in 2007/2008, and cardigan's in 2009-2010. It's all cyclical, and I get that - just don't like personal style getting grouped in to trends. 

4. Little known fact - in Fall of 2010 - I produced a small quantity (limited to 10) line of Oh Snaps That's Tight snapbacks with the intent of selling some online. Turned out to be a friends/family only release - but be on the lookout for a new collection dropping soon that may make their way online this time ;)

Jay-Z/Roc-A-Wear Purchases Billionaire Boys Club?

I woke up yesterday morning to news from GQ Magazine that Jay-Z purchased BBC from Pharrell. Obviously, I was shocked. Pharrell is the epitome of cool, and Jay-Z, well, raps really really well. I wasn't sure it was a logical fit, and alas - GQ didn't quite have the full story.

As facts filtered in throughout the day, including that tweet from Jay-Z himself, it started to make more sense. Apparently, Roc-A-Wear is licensing BBC, which in this case means that they are going to fund, make, and distribute the products, while Pharrell will maintain strict and sole control of the brand design/integrety. Those of you obsessed with exclusivity need not fret - there are currently no plans to mass-distribute BBC to Macy's and other mass retailers - but stay tuned for more info. Speaking of info, Hot 97's Miss Info has a good run-down of the deal and today's events.

Air Jordan 11 (Concord) Re-Release Date Set!

Previews of the Nike Air Jordan 11 have been poplin up online the last few days - but today the release date was announced. This upcoming December 23rd, the Air Jordan 11 in the original Concord colorway is going up for sale for only the 3rd time. This is a certified classic, so expect long-lines, crazy online mark-ups, and to be honest, a lot of disappointment if you aren't able to secure for yourself a part of history. Just Be Cool

I bought the Just Be Cool logo tank to rock during the summer - and its definitely come in handy, but now that fall is quickly approaching - its time to transition to shirts with actual sleeves on them.

Some of you may have heard the "Just Be Cool" references in numerous Dom Kennedy tracks, may be a fan of the COOL logo featured on the shirt above, or may be a fan of what the brand is after with their mission statement ("a campaign designed to redefine the word COOL - To keep a POSITIVE attitude about LIFE and a WORLD of PEACE, UNITY, and PROGRESS").
