The Hundreds - 5th Anniversary Collabs

Drake - So Far Gone (mixtape)

I've been bumpin this one A LOT lately. I think the only thing that is going to break it out of rotation is Budden's new CD, The Padded Room, which drops tomorrow.

Anyway, if you are in to something different, give Drake a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised (kid can spit and sing). Don't let the 'actor looks' (no homo, I say in reference to his days on Degrassi: The Next Generation) fool you.

Check it out here.

Supreme - Spring/Summer 09

There are a lot of REALLY nice pieces from this upcoming seasons Supreme drop. Real "polo-esque" this time around. Wasn't sure what to post as there are a couple of t's, tanks, and accessories that I feel are must-cops this season, so check the full line over at Sole x Life for the full spectrum of goodies. Droppin soon at the Flagships, and hitting the net on March 12th.

G1988 Presents : Idiot Box!!!

This is AWESOME. Our friends over at Gallery 1988 (the "Hot Karl" owned art gallery on Melrose) is celebrating its 5th anniversary. Straight for the Horse's mouth:

We opened Gallery1988 (now known as Gallery1988: LA) 5 years ago in April on the corner of Melrose and La Brea (the same location it stands today). When we first opened one early passerby wished us good luck, since LA was "basically an art mafia that would be hard to break." This person wasn't being rude, just letting us know. Which we thanked him for. But we knew we were opening the gallery basically to make fun of that Art Mafia. The galleries taking themselves so serious, showing the same low-brow motorcycle, babes with skulls, artwork year after year or the venues selling "blue chip" artwork for insane amounts of money when the actual artwork didn't speak directly to anyone (besides being told it was "an investment'). Our goal was to bridge a gap. Katie's background was in USC Art History and Christie's Auction House, while I just knew I'd buy a painting of Super Mario Bros. We wanted to create affordable artwork that spoke to our generation. And now 5 years later...the fact that we're still here, in the same location, is totally crazy to us. And people seem to like our off-base approach to shows. So, it is my pleasure to announce our 5-year Anniversary show.

"Idiot Box" will feature almost 100 artists depicting their favorite television guilty pleasures. The shows you can hardly admit you love, but in all honesty, you LOVE the shit out of them. And yes. On April 2, the night of the opening reception, Dennis "Mr. Belding" Haskins will be hosting the extravaganza to not only celebrate the Gallery's milestone, but also the 20th Anniversary of Saved by the Bell! "Diff'rent Strokes." "Small Wonder." "Double Dare." "Flava of Love." It basically doesn't stop.

Steve Nazar x The Hundreds = Stay Primative T

I think we all know what happened the first time Steve Nozar and The Hundreds got together on a collab, it was pretty classic (check the Oh Snaps archives from 06 for the previous shirt). For those of you with a short memory, Steve Nozar is the world-class artist that put in work for T&C back in the 80's with their iconic cartoon charachters. The 09 update is just as hot.

Aaron- don't pass out wearing this one, lol.

Durkly Hoody

I thought Durkly was one of those brands that was going to pop and then sizzle out. A few years later, they're still here. They toned it down a bit with this hoody, and I'm liking it. Catch it on sale at Krudmart NOW...

Breaking News Part Deux !!!

So Kid Cudi was arrested. For being possession of drugs? Getting caught with guns? How about for refusing to wear Reekboks? Apparently he got in an "altercation" with Reebok employees after refusing to wear Reeboks on stage, preferring of course to rock J's. Long story short, cops rolled in, tazers in hand, and the rest is history. Check Sole blvd for more.
*Update* Check Cudi's blog where sets the track straight, and shows the infamous shoes, lol.

Breaking News!!!!

Iverson cut his braids?! lol. Ok, maybe not breaking news, but news worthy. Happy Valentines Day. Hopefully all you fellas out there were able to incorporate NBA All-Star weekend in to your plans, lol.

I Love College

So I wasn't planning on doing anymore Asher Roth posts since posting his og mixtape last July, but he keeps poppin up, so whatever.

So yeah, posting this mainly cuz Miss Info NAILED it with her commentary:The first single from the next great white hype… he’s got bars though, I’m not hating. Turn this on at any college bar/keg party and watch the madness ensue. Peep the Weezer sample for all you music nerds.

Another thought: This kid has potential to be huge, I think his marketablity can cross over like every genre of music… rap, rock, pop etc fans. He is the same person as the majority of mainstream rap listeners today, but are the kids ready to listen to music from somebody that looks their best friend or do they still want the comic-book character-esque, super thug- gangster 50 cent type to provide their keg party background music?

Stussy x WestCoast Rap Legends

Stussy and West Coast rap are pretty much two of my favorite things, so this “West Coast Rappers Series” of shirts presented by Stussy is a nice little mash up. In total there are 4 shirts, inspired by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, N.W.A and Eazy E. Yessir.
