Us Versus Them - Spring/Summer

Us Versus Them out of Temecula, CA just unleashed their Spring/Summer 2011 Lookbook, and all of the hand-drawn goods are available now in-store and online.  While on the topic of Us Versus Them, have you seen the shirt they did for Coachella this year? Check the write-up from the UVT guys on the effort below:

"For the most part, the projects we get involved in or set up are sprung from our everyday lives or our friends around us. It’s all borne out of the anti-cynical idea of having fun with what we do. We set up art projects with friends because they inspire us. We made our bike frame because it was what we want to ride. So when co-founder Mike Glory told us we were presented with the opportunity to design a collaborative shirt for Coachella this year it required little thought on our end. Having been in attendance nearly every single year since it’s inception, we’ve been witness to the growth and changes, not only that the actual event has gone through, but it’s place in the cultural landscape. Harking back to music festivals of decades past, it ushered in and made viable the idea of mixing modern independent rising music acts with established headliners and reuniting cult acts from the past.
So when it came down to coming up with a concept, we decided to take a cue from the past and do a classic rock poster style design, but with a decidedly modern twist. Using our crosscut logo as the starting point, the standard palm tree was replaced by a date palm, which is a main crop in the Coachella Valley. Our machete was replaced by drumsticks. The acid trip lettering was replaced by a stylized pixaçao rendition of Coachella. All hand drawn, take a look."

Take a look at the shirt, and video of the creative process - after the jump.

I love video's of the creation process - whether music artists in the studio, or a dude with a pen and pencil - its always inspring to see someone's vision come to life.
