Kid Robot - Logo Batch Backpack

I love products where Style and Fashion meet Function. That's one of the reasons I don't really get down with the runway shows - "Yes, I understand that from a design perspective, that piece is intricate and amazing - but realistically, when would someone ever where that?" This KidRobot backpack is a simple 2 pocket pack in a subtle grey, yet remains stylish with the teal straps and logo patch. Aside from that - who can't use a backpack - one of the most versatile accessories around?

Kanye West + Mos Def | Blue Note Jazz Club Freestyle

I hope this song makes it to CDQ. This beat is dope and Kanye airs out some dope material.
He is really on some other stuff as an artist he is right at the top his passion alone for his art helps out tremendously. Something about live bands makes the music so much better.

"and all these illuminati talks like my first single wasnt Jesus walks..." - Kanye

DL: Blue Note Jazz Club Freestyle

Wiz Khalifa + Snoop | Young, Wild and Free

I know some people are tired of the weed references by Wiz but this song is super catchy and I like the vibe of it to be honest. I like this better then the Cabin Fever mixtape he did. He comes off Rick Rossish on that stuff. IMO (In My Opinion) his stuff is cooler with this type of vibe. Still waiting for the collab album haha. Any guess on album titles for it?

DL: YW&F

J. Cole | Nothing Like It (Freestyle)

Who remembers this old Kanye beat? Some smooth bars from J. Cole. Enjoy!

Clark Goolsby Exhibit - Strange/Love

LA based painter Clark Goolsby's 2nd exhibit is currently being showed at the POVevolving Gallery. The show is open until March 12th, but if you can't check it out in person - peep the a good portion of the images over at one of my favorite sites, FF (WARNING: Extreme Spoiler Alert if you are going to the show).

"Overall, the show is about death and the fragility of life. I am specifically interested in how we maintain optimism in a world that is so full of potentially life ending situations" - Clark Goolsby

Mishka 2011 Spring Collection

Mishka recently dropped their 2011 Spring Lookbook, with photography by Marley Kate (more on the photographer below). They have toned it down (a bit?) over the years - but Mishka is essentially the Odd Future of the Streetwear industry - cool designs, but a little out there. Check out the entire lookbook here.

Born and raised in New York City, Marley Kate graduated from NYU, and went on to study photography at the School of Visual Arts. With a focus on fashion and beauty, Marley is able to capture a sense of playfulness and energy in her photos. Her style is luscious and ethereal. Her dream is lofty yet simple; to shoot fashion for the magazines, websites and brands she admires most.

OFWGKTA | MTV Presents: The Adventures of Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All

All I'm going to say is these dudes are weird but that Yonkers song is too nice! These guys are out of LA too scares me. Expect to hear some crazy things from these guys.

Mike Posner | Rolling In the Deep (Cover)

Love it! Mike Posner is finally starting to make a little more noise since his album dropped he went quiet for a while. First a collab with Wayne now a cover of Adele's Rolling In the Deep. Super dope he always puts a cool twist on tracks. Enjoy!

DL: Rolling In the Deep

Lil Wayne | I Hate Love (Ft. Detail)

This was a old song that got ditched off The Carter IV the beat is super weird but I dig it has elements of the single track he did with a little rock which he attempted. I don't mind it. Enjoy!

UNIV - Spring 2011 Lookbook

I've said it once, and I'll say it again - UNIV is my favorite non-flagship store around. Located in gorgeous Encinitas- the UNIV store brings together friendly staff, nice store layout, and good accounts (TH, WOR, Nike, etc). Don't sleep on their self branded shirts, sweatshirts, and made in the USA Selvage denim. Just don't. Check out the lookbook here, and their regular site, which includes a webshop, at univ-shop.com.

Stussy - Spring 2011 Lookbook (& Release Info)

Stussy unveils their Spring Lookbook, which you can check out here. Spring 2011, which releases February 25th at Stussy.com and Stussy Chapter Stores, is another strong offering.

Lookbook photography by RJ Shaughnessy.

RJ Shaughnessy has spent the last ten years working as a photographer in Los Angeles. His unique ability to capture the anarchic, spontaneous and playful nature of the youth experience has catapulted him to the forefront of some of the most memorable campaigns. An active participant in his shoots, RJ’s “authentic realism” aesthetic has lent itself to an impressive collection of self-published monographs and exhibitions including Foto Fest 2010 Biennial in Houston, Texas and a 2010 solo exhibit at Leadapron Gallery in Los Angeles. His varied and substantial body of work has earned him a place among modern photography’s most sought after young elite.

Eminem - Things Get Worse (Ft. B.O.B.)

Em and B.O.B. deliver some heat. Everyone hates on Em and his flow and that he always takes all the awards and that he is over-hyped... Well I disagree and will wait to do a whole post on why he isn't over-hyped and has earned his stripes so for now enjoy!

DL: Things Get Worse

Wally!

I'm sure a lot of you OSTT faithful out there have been noticing a lot of posting of wallets lately - and I can't hide it any longer - the last few months I've been searching high and low for the perfect wallet. While I love the wallet that I've been using the last year - I've come to the conclusion that it has a bit of a Summer-time feel to it. While there is nothing wrong with that on the surface - as a #GAM ('grown-ass man') - I need a wallet that fits accordingly. Check out some of the leading candidates below.

Nooka (Pocket Organizer) - Pictured above. Upgrading to this model doesn't make much sense based on what I'm looking for - but I am a fan of the design. Reminds me a bit of the Oki Ni Jimi Wallet, featured back in October of 2008.
Specs: The Nooka Asset Organizer offers a streamlined alternative to the conventional wallet. Made from silicone and designed to fit in your back pocket or even in a small compartment of your bag, and is available in many bold colors.

Tanner Goods Cardholder - Originally featured on the blog back in July of 2010 - this beauty was sitting in the forefront of the "most likely to be purchased" category - until I caught wind that a member of the crew recently came up on one. That being said - I am still drawn to the simplicity and high-quality products that Tanner Goods puts out - so may end up going with the more traditional Utility Bi-fold.

Thom Brown (Black/Leather) - Previously featured earlier this month, this wallet exudes style and class.
Rosewebs Wallet - Current wallet - again - absolutely love that its so thin, and the fact that it's green (made out of recycled beach chairs) is an obvious plus. Featured April 2010.

Coach (WATERBUFFALO MONEY CLIP CARD CASE) - I had a similar model that I received as a gift in college back in 2003 - and truth be told - it was bomb proof. High quality leather that aged like a charm made the wallet distinguished with age. I like to stay away from the "designer" brands - genuinely because they are over-branded and over-priced from a quality standpoint - but this is a winner. Same with the Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Cardholder/Organizer.

Hit me up on TWITTER (@princeofgundo) and let me know what Wallet you are currently working with - and why!

Kevin Cossom | On My Way Documentary

I have love for music and sports documentaries. Kevin Cossom is a beast for those that don't know please check out his mixtape Bridge vs Hook. Something about writers that turn into artist most of the time they end up being better artist if they can write their own music. Watch the documentary preview here. RESPECT!

Blake Griffin’s Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 “10.0″ Shoes

Earlier in the NBA season - I pondered why Blake Griffin wasn't getting the marketing love he deserved. Post All-Star break, that is no longer the case. Above - get an exclusive look at the kicks worn by Blake (no corny nick-name needed) during his coming out party, and additional pics over at Counter Kicks. Oh, and yes, they do Glow-In-The-Dark.

Kanye West | All of the Lights (Video)

This is pretty fly. Kanye is always super creative with his videos. Rumor is Rihana and Kanye are performing this song at halftime of the NBA All-Star game. Enjoy!

NBA DigiSocks

For those of you that watched the NBA Rookie Sophomore challenge - you were given more than a healthy dose of defense, dunks and dimes. All-Star festivities bring something else to the table as well - lots of special edition kicks. While Nike hooked up each of their marquee athletes with individual colorways (see: Kobe, Lebron, Durant, Melo, CP3, D-Wade), Adidas tried to step outside the box a bit and have all of their athletes  rock the same shoe (World Cup Strategy) - as Jrue Holiday, Wesley Johnson, Serge Ibaka, Taj Gibson, James Harden, and Steph Curry all wore these eye-catching, yellow 'Adipure Mids'. Great thought - if the shoes weren't hideous (Note -Adidas athletes Dwight Howard and D-Rose (2nd pair) got their own special kicks too - but they are also so beneath the radar I hardly want to link to them). In my opinion though, Young Money Brandon Jennings (#Compton) stole the show with these red on red Micro G Black Ice Low's (pictured above). Talk about CLEAN colorways! Never owned a pair of Under Armor kicks so I can't attest to their performance level - but from a style standpoint - branding aside- these look good on the court.

Oh - and Twitter rant aside - I liked the socks everyone was wearing. Speaking of Twitter, hit me up (twitter.com/princeofgundo) and let me know whose kicks stole the show. With tonight being "All-Star Saturday Night" and the Big game being tomorrow - I'm sure there will be a lot to talk about.

Nike Dunk (Brick)

I rarely venture in to rocking high-top sneaks, but once in a blue moon, a pair will come along that will make me think of stepping outside of my comfort zone - no pun intended. This Nike Dunk Hi is the first to fall in that category here in 2011. Basic shoe? Yes. But much as Tyler the Creater/Odd Future/OFWGKTA is the antithesis of the Drake's, Kanye's, and BOB's - these shoes are a nice break from the crazy colorways that the companies are doing to commemorate All-Star weekend (yeah - I realize the craziness factor goes in the opposite direction - but just ride with it, haha).

Suede, Brick upper with white trimming, offset with brick stitching, topped off with a classic gum sole.

Tyler the Creater | Yonkers (Video)

I know I've been slacking on my pimpin... Sorry been super busy with this All-Star Weekend stuff some good stuff has slipped through the cracks so I'm here to put you on game! Here is a video of the new song Yonkers by Tyler the Creater. This video is insane very creative if you don't like rated R stuff this video is not for you. This dude is unique and exactly what the game needs!

Banksy in LA

I got a text from my boy that some Banksy images popped up in LA (yes, these are the types of things we talk about) - and it looks like another new image leaked today (althoguh this billboard has already been removed).

It's hardly a normal "for your consideration" Oscar campaign, but the street artist Banksy has been busy in Los Angeles this week. Since Monday he's left several pieces of art on walls and billboards around town -- and while one was quickly removed by the owners, the others are still out there as unusual reminders that Banksy's first movie, "Exit Through the Gift Shop," is nominated for Best Documentary Feature. - The Wrap

The Oscars are quickly approaching - and I have no idea how this is going to play out- but I will be watching closely, and I have a lingering suspicion that a huge piece is going to be displayed the night of the Oscars themselves...

BIG L

I can't believe it's been 12 years since my man BIG L passed. From an MC perspective - there weren't a lot of rappers that could keep up with young Lamont's punchlines and multi's. Without the radio hits of other legends passed (Eazy-E, Pac, Big, Pun) - I can see how Big L could find himself left off of the current generations radar. That's why, it'a up to people in the know to keep his name, and more importantly his art, alive. So pay homage to a underground Legend, and put on some Big L today...

Supreme x Lady Gaga x Terry Richardson

Only felt it was appropriate, tonight being Grammy night and all, to feature this Supreme x Lady Gaga x Terry Richardson collab. I heard murmurs of the Gaga and Supreme collection a couple weeks ago, but didn't want to be that guy who breaks a story that doesn't actually exist. I was sent the pic of Lady Gaga holding the SUPREME purse shot by Terry Richardson - should have been enough of a hint - but in this day in age, can't be careful enough. So yeah - Supreme Spring 2011, Gaga in the infamous SUPREME box logo - here we are.

Aaron Koblin - The Sheep Market

TheSheepMarket.com is a collection of 10,000 sheep made by workers on Amazon's Mechanical Turk.
Workers were paid 0.02 ($USD) to "draw a sheep facing to the left."

So our boy Aaron Koblin commissioned 10,000 people to draw a sheep facing to the left, pays them each 2 cents for their effort, and then gets all the acclaim and credit after compiling them? I like the way this guy thinks, haha.

View the entire work at The Sheep Market.

Kidding of course. Dude is super creative and out there. Don't believe me? Spend 5 mins of your life and head over to The Wilderness Downtown. Enter in the address you grew up on, turn your speakers up - and sit back and enjoy.

Did this UNDEFEATED x Disney collab completely slide under the radar or what? I thought it would have been a bigger hit - but items from the collection are still available.

NAJA's Place

Where else can you get 88 beers on tap from all over the world, a diverse crowd, views of the famed Redondo Beach King Harbor and infamous Pier, and an all-white reggae group? NAJA's Place, of course. The crew paid a visit this past sunny Saturday - and good times ensued.

Nike Valentines Day Pack - 2011

I don't know about you - but I love seasonal releases (often more than the holiday's that the special edition products represent). Case in point - Nike's 2011 edition of their Valentines Day pack, featuring a Dunk Hi and an Air Force 1 (#NoNelly). Via HighSnobiety.

Nooka x Karim Rashid - "Yogurt" Watch

Yes - I realize that G-Shock's are (still?!?!) all the rage - but similar to investing in the market - it's all about diversification. Step outside the comfort zone - as Nooka just did, with their first circular-designed watch. I'm a fan of the siloutte, and once again, Nooka pushes the envelope with regard to their vision on how to tell time. The Yogurt line, designed by the famed Karim Rashid, comes in various colors (fittingly named after flavors - such as Blackberry, Blueberry, Lime Green, Non Fat (Clear), Plain, Rasberry).

Description below via the Nooka website:

"Yogurt”, Nooka’s first circular design, will utilize soft and flexible polyurethane, making it similar to the Nooka ZUB line of watches. The display incorporates digital hexagons that comprise the hour in the middle while the minutes circle the outer display of the watch. This watch will feature sleep mode, a 12 and 24 hour display mode.

T-Pain | Bes Luv Song (Ft. Chris Brown)

So I wasn't going to add this because I already posted a song featuring CB and I know everyone is tired of auto-tune but when the hook and the guitars came in I felt I had to share this. Also with T-Pain going off on Twitter about him being unhappy and going to release the whole revolver album I figured why not give you legit free music. Plus I personally like TP. Anyways give this song a chance and listen to the different breaks in the beat especially towards the end. Enjoy!

DL: Bes Luv Song

Stephen Marley | No Cigarette Smoke (In My Room) (Ft. Melanie Fiona)

Is it just me or does he look and sound like BOB?! Well I'm not complaining because this sounds amazing. Melanie Fiona is also doing a lot of features lately and if you were sleeping on her I suggest you wake up she has a beautiful voice. Put your lighters in the air for this one.

DL: No Cigarette Smoke (In My Room)

Big Sean | My Last (Clean) (Ft. Chris Brown)

Yeah Buddy! New music from Big Sean this is definitely a radio hit. This is the first single off the Finally Famous: Album which will be dropping soon. Enjoy!

Professor Bun B

OG Bun B is respected in a lot of different circles - from being a renowned southern lyricist, to always being laced in the latest streetwear and working with independent brands, to being a true sneakerhead that understands the game - and now he finds himself in a lane not travelled by many rappers - Collegiate Professor, teaching Religious Studies 331: Religion and Hip-Hop Culture at Rice University.

The whole point of me as a Hip-Hop artist and a representative of the Hip-Hop community teaching this course, was to inspire people that Hip-Hop doesn’t have to be confined within the conditions that we know it to be confined,” said Uncle Bun. “You don’t have to just be a Hip-Hop artist in a club, or an arena or a studio or on television or on the radio. That Hip-Hop has the opportunity to educate and inform and inspire people across all walks of life, within all settings. I feel like being able to teach at a college university is a perfect example of showing how Hip-Hop can influence the minds of the next generation."

This is the type of thing that I could have seen Tupac transitioning to had he not been assassinated at 25.

Just in time for tomorrows big game. Which I will be watching underneath covers consuming a lot of fluids.... The weather changes got the best of me! Anyways here is a few tracks DJ Skee remixed. I know these songs have been beat to death so I figured I'd give them one more run haha.

Dunk Denim's

Nike Premium Dunk HI's. Love when kicks utilize denim  - such a durable material. Obviously you want to use caution - and not be to extreme when combining denim pieces in a single outfit (um, yeah) - but teaming this with a nice pair of khaki's and an offsetting denim jacket would be the business.

HUF Genuine - Spring 2011

Liking the US colorway of these new HUF Genuine's, scheduled for a release in Spring of 2011. Somewhat of a Hybrid between Vans, Keds, Keep, and generic boat shoes - the silhouette isn't new as much as a Frankenstein combination, but can't deny the clean color-way, and the pieces fit together well.

TYGA | Really Raw (Ft. Pharell, Snoop Dogg, Game)

TYGA STYLE! So I heard this song a while back at the Drake concert in Vegas (The one Lil Wayne crashed straight from the pen.) He opened for Drake and this song went hard (no homo, Thats Really Raw) He had everyone say "That's Really Raw" after every line he spit. To be honest it was super dope couldn't wait for the song to drop and here it is. Can't wait for a new album/mixtape. I dig his style, Thats Really Raw! Enjoy.

DL: Really Raw

Timbaland | 808 (Ft. Brandy)

Yessir, Timbaland Thursdays! I don't care what people think he still makes dope beats and this is a cool track to listen to. People hate on his music better then D4L.... (Laffy Taffy) So ENJOY!

Lil Wayne | Green & Yellow

I'm trying to stay away from posting the same thing everyone else is but being that the Superbowl is Sunday I had to post this one. Enjoy!

Freddie Gibbs x Jun Cha x Huey Newton

Friend of Oh Snaps That's Tight - Freddie Gibbs - recently got revolutionary/icon Huey Newton tatoo'd on his back by upcoming LA Tatoo Artist (and The Hundreds collaborator) Jun Cha. With Black History Month upon us - this post wasn't even a question. Check the video/interview segment with both parties over at MissInfo.tv (direct link).

When Huey Newton sat in that iconic wicker chair, grasping both spear and rifle amongst the chaos of 1967, something truly revolutionary was in the air.
Forty-three years later when rapper Freddie Gibbs sat in a chair to have the Black Panther’s most famous image tattooed onto his back by acclaimed artist Jun Cha, an all-together different kind of revolution was brewing. Perhaps it’s only natural that one of hip-hop’s most promising young talents was getting such a meaningful piece by LA’s fastest rising painter, illustrator and tattoo artist.

“It’s a reflection of youth and independent thought,” Jun Cha says from Los Angeles. “It’s a symbol for the freedom of ideas and expression. The Panthers were a group that thought for themselves. It goes hand-in-hand with the young hustlers’ generation today. Most art culture—whether it’s hip-hop, art and design, or tattooing—has had its struggle to be accepted into the larger context of society. And this tattoo is the liberation of that.”

Yeah this could have went with the same post below but naaaahhh. Had to give it its own post. I hope you're as excited as I am about a new rap group actually making good music. Can anyone think of one that is doing great now? I'll wait....

Mike Posner | Bow Chicka Remix (Ft. Lil Wayne)

New Posner + Wayne! So initially this was one of my top 3 songs off his past album I think his album was really slept on. Wayne gives this a little something but not much. Very smooth and easy to listen to none the less. Enjoy!
